Going it alone is hard for most of us, no matter what life’s challenges! According to research studies, a “support team” is key to helping many people reach and maintain their health goals. If you need to manage diabetes, a food allergy, high blood pressure, or some other health problem, support often makes a strict eating regimen easier to follow.
If you don’t have a support team:
- Create one! Get a lunch partner. Eat smart together. Split large restaurant portions. Or take turns bringing healthful bag lunches to share.
- Join a support group. Besides the psychological support, it’s a great place to swap realistic nutrition strategies.
- Enlist family support. Family members not only encourage you; they can also help stock the kitchen with foods you need to eat smart. Return the favor.
